Norfolk County Showground C C Site

Long Lane

On junction of the A47 and A1074, signposted Norfolk County Showground, signposted to caravan site, on Bawburgh road.

Description

The site is a gently sloping field with pitches around the access road and in four echelon lines in the centre, all with hook-ups. Pitches are in echelon to give as level a pitch as possible, and it works. There’s a small toilet and shower block, with laundry facilities, maintained to the CC’s usual high standards, a small information hut and gas is available, if little else.

Don’t worry, the other side of the A47 junction there’s a good-sized Sainsbury’s, with petrol station, café and cleaners, open to 8 or 9 each evening (Sundays 10-4).

TV reception is good, even with a Status, as is the mobile phone signal.

When we were there the weather was ideal, perfect for lounging outside the van with hands full of drink, and falling asleep in the sun.

Next to the site is a golf driving range with a fair pro shop, and the 18-hole course is, I’m told quite good (don’t ask me, I’m only a beginner).

There’s a 5-lake fishing complex nearby, and Norwich, with its river, market, shops and that is 15 minutes’ drive away.
