To find this site turn off the A12 at the roundabout signed for the Wildlife Park, and drive straight past until you come to the beach. Follow the road as it turns right, then right again, then as you go left you will see the site entrance.
When you book in you will be asked to select your pitch, and then return to reception where you will be given a key for the security barrier. A key is not needed for the beach pitches as there is no security barrier.
There are 24 pitches by the beach, on 13 of which you are not allowed to use an awning. All have electricity available. This is to avoid blocking the view from the pitches behind. In the main area there is a mix of hard standing and grass pitches, with electricity. While we were there the grass pitches were not being used to avoid damage. On each supply pillar is a co-ax socket for TV, although your own booster is still recommended. There is a toilet block on the beach area, a large one at the rear of the main site, and a smaller one at the front which was closed for the rest of the season.
The children’s play area is closed, and whatever was in it has been removed. To reach the sea you have a trudge across a large expanse of shingle. The Wildlife Park is worth a visit and there are several good walks in the area
In Kessingland there are two ‘chippies’, the one in Field Road being recommended by the wardens (I understand that they will deliver to site), and within easy walking distance are the Waterfront Restaurant (Booking essential, and I believe difficult), and the Sailors Home PH, which has a good restaurant where we enjoyed a meal. For shopping you have a choice of a small, and expensive, convenience store, a Londis shop, and about 1.5 miles away a Morrisons (ex Safeway)
John & Jean Haseltine. CLIC.
Main site mix of grass and hardstanding pitches and reception block
Beach side of site toilet facilities and pitches front row not allowed any awnings
I’ve added the pictures after my visit but John and Jean have got it right
I’ll only add that some pitches tend to get waterlogged when it rains heavily
